Islamic banking and finance in South-east Asia : Its development and future (3rd edition)

In the preface to the 3^rd edition published in 2012, Angelo M Venardos has clarified that this book focuses largely on the development of Islamic Banking and Finance in the South-East Asian context and does not contain the technical and philosophical parts of Islamic Banking and Finance. This book was one of the first few books on the subject in South-East Asia published in 2005. Venardos - a non-Muslim and a banker by training - has contributed significantly in the industry through his scholarship, exchanging experience he has gained over the last 4 decades as a corporate finance lawyer, and witnessing many of the major developments in the financial services market in Singapore and South-East Asia. The book has been well received by the readers. It has been translated into Arabic by King Saud University, Saudi Arabia.
